It’s a pretty and lively place, only accessible by boat. The town is a nice place to enjoy food and drink. We found Ilios to be the best restaurant and the bar on the far right (looking from the sea) to be an enjoyable place for a drink or two. The best things about the place, for us, were the immediate access to the E4 hiking route and the multiple boat trips to nearby beaches Glika Nera and Marmara. Glika Nera is fabulous if not too crowded. Try the home made Kolokithokeftedes (courgette balls) with a little Tzatziki at the taverna on the jetty. Yum!

I have been coming for years, it is a special and magical place. I love Sweetwater beach, the best stuffed tomatos ever. The local folk are welcoming and friendly, the sea clear and the whole place spotless. Lots of eateries and bars and mini markets to cater for all needs. You can access adjoining beaches and tiny villages via foot and ferry. the taxi Sfakia company provide superb airport pick ups and safe rides over the mountains to the ferry at Sfakia for Loutro.

Loutro is just beautiful and very peaceful especially in the evening. All the places we ate were good and there is a very good choice of tavernas. It's equally great for walkers and for relaxing, swimming, reading etc.
The ferry boat sail from Paleochora is really pleasant and picturesque. Loutro is easy to get around and there are little boats to take one to Marmara beach where there is amazing clear water for swimming and a cafe.
We loved it.

A unique and charming village, accessible by boat from Hora Sfakia, with several small and cosy beaches, plenty of nice taverns with local food, friendly people. Although there are many visitors during the day, it was peaceful and authentic. Prices were regular and I did not encounter any "tourist traps". Could have stayed for months...

the beach and water are incredible ones of the best on the island. there are several small restaurants where you can enjoy Cretan cuisine, try the local delicacy of sfakiani pita with honey. it can get very busy especially on weekends with several boats throughout the day so get there early and find a good spot on the beach. at night it's quite so good for families. I would recommend a one or two night stay , definitely a place to relax.

We stayed in Loutro for two days not nearly long enough to give a proper review but the restaurants we visited were fantastic, it only takes 15 minutes to walk from one end of the bay to the other. I would recommend if you're planning on going in the sea to take a pair of Beach shoes as the beach is pebbles.
The Daskalogiannis Hotel is located close to the ferry/water taxi docks. Coco, the parrot, takes his responsibility as chief greeter very seriously! We were able to leave our bags while we waited for our room to be ready although the bags were not stored in a secure area. The staff were all friendly. The hotel was quiet, so we slept well. The shower was roomy, which is not always the case in Greece. The front desk provided extra items, such as beach towels, a corkscrew, wine glasses, etc.
Clean room, near the restaurant and beach, friendly staff, beautiful view. Really loved the colorscheme of the room, it was fresh, stylish and very relaxing.
A/C was also a great amenity considering the hot summer weather in Greece, and the room was a nice stop to relax and cool yourself down.
Daily cleaning was also great, considering that we even stayed for only 2 days. Was nice to always find a fresh set of sheets and everything in order.
Optimal location, clean bathroom and helpful staff. The bar of the hotel is recommended even if you are not a guest of the hotel itself, as it has a very nice atmosphere, especially at night. The location is also great as it is the first hotel you see once you step out of the port but in any case everything in Loutro is max 2 min. away
This hotel probably has the best location in Loutro, up on the mountainside and with sweeping views east across the bay. The broad, sheltered terrace is a beautiful place to enjoy breakfast or an evening cocktail. The furnishings are tasteful and of high quality. The restaurants and beach of Loutro are just minutes away.
Since we are regular visitors of Loutro we knew in advance that the particular room wasn't the best selections for us. No matter what Loutro is a magnificent place and minor issues such accommodation would dare to make us hesitate visit again this place (not the particular room)
The location is perfect- it's the first hotel you get to when you get off from the ferry. The bar/restaurant is so inviting with it unique and quaint decor. The hosts were wonderful to talk to and so accommodating. Will definitely stay here again when we go back to Loutro
Everything was good. The hotel is located in the center of Loutro. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff is really nice and very kind. I really recommend to spend at least a night in Loutro and I suggest this hotel because it is the best rate value/money.
Wonderful location, outstanding staff, comfortable but not luxurious accommodations, and, of course, lovely hostess Christina spent some time with us to actually get to know us in the short time we were there. We will always remember Christina and Loutro!
We were transferred on their boat , welcomed by the family with open arms , the taverna and hotel are family run and the taverna is so traditional . We had lunch , dinner and breakfast and it was amazing . Beach is ok , but the rest made up for that .
Extremely clean, well equipped and perfectly located hotel with a very friendly, and welcoming staff. We enjoyed evey minute if our stay. Lovely appointed room, beautifully decorated and large comfiorable bed. Immaculately clean. We will return again
The hotel is amazing. Its clean, comfy, quiet, ideal for couples or a family. its only a minute walk to the beach. Ask Antreas (your host) to arrange for you Beach front chairs in Loutro and small boat trips to other nearby beaches!
The location of this hotel is incredible.
The host is fantastic and could not do enough to make our stay so amazing, picking us up and dropping us off back in Loutro by boat with his dog.
The whole experience was incredible....
Hotel is really good. Everything we liked! It's always easy to find some of the things that could be better, but all in all I really can't say a single bad word. Any time I do again to loutro, I will try to take this hotel room.
We had room 17; it has a huge terrance facing Loutro bay. The view was amazing, both day and night time. Our room was worth for a trip in Loutro. Breakfast was good and respecting virus precautions. This hotel is recommended.
We loved our stay at Villa Niki, I could sit and look at the view from the balcony all day. The rooms were even better than the photos, great aircon , thoroughly recommend if you're going to Loutro.
